My thoughts exactly.

As someone who is actively looking, that is one I haven't seen in my search.

Go for it!

I had a hankering for one too. I was actually looking for a SWB Defender or Series IIa and was one of the reasons I joined this forum (I'd been on Disco 3 for a good while). I also joined http://seriouslyseries.createaforum.com/ and followed a variety of facebook pages too.

After a good bit of searching, a reality check on my budget and a bit more searching I found Alfred the 109 on the seriously series forum. He was listed at £3.5k. Galvanised chassis, 200tdi (which runs sweet as anything), soft top, overdrive. After a couple of months of ownership I sold my daily commuting car and now use Alfred full time. Brilliant fun at the weekend, surprisingly practical and good enough to use daily. He's not immaculate but is presentable and is a hoot in the summer with the top off.

Thanks Dave, your Alfred is one I follow and very much inspiration for wanting one! Just lovely Thumbs Up

It also confirms to me that the one I found for £7.5k is too much for my budget. I'm therefore happy to confirm where I saw it for sale. I think it's only fair I tell Tompoole first via PM since he asked first? Or should I just post it here? James

No just spotted on the S2 club forum last night. Conversion from Hard to Soft top is not difficult and might widen your search. Thumbs Up 2010 XS USW

I'd definitely join the Series2 Club James for that very reasonable annual subscription. The Built2Last magazine is a really good insightful read.

I'll try and dig out a copy, and the list of club meets local to you (dates, locations etc.) and PM it over to you, as simply turning up and chatting to the group will prove to be helpful Thumbs Up

The only down side is that you'll become even more keen..... Thumbs Up

Think I will join the Series Club just for interest, thank you.

Beginning to wonder if I should just convert the Red 110 to soft top? Shocked James

Hi James,

I will probably take a trip out to one of the upcoming meetings in PGV, work permitting, now that the evenings are light again. You'd be welcome to come for the ride - it will almost certainly put you off Rolling with laughter

^ Love the carpeted drip collector.

The first drive I had in my series didn't put me off.... poking a screwdriver through holes while inspecting it underneath almost did Big Cry

But it's great one day I would like to have mine looking like this...

As I bought it...
