Having spent rather more than SWMBO thinks on a new engine and associated "necessary" bits (BAS intercooler new turbo, VCV, Nakawotsit wing to airbox pipe ++) and treated the Defender to new BFG's a couple of weeks ago I've now had the A/C condenser replaced prior to a trip to Italy next week. It may be a bit warmer there!
I never name my vehicles but I recon this one is female, she can never have too much attention Whistle

Any thoughts on that? Worthwhile upgrade? Not just the Naka inlet and pipe, but just generally having the extra mm in the air pipe, even if DIY ? Monsieur Le Grenadier

When I met Pete Bell (BAS) he looked at my OEM RAI and said that it restricted/ reduced airflow, so after further research it seemed to me that replacing the restrictive standard pipework with the larger bore Nakathingy would return airflow to standard or better, and keep a properly sealed RAI.
Given all the other stuff that happened at the same time as fitting it it's difficult to know if it, by itself, made a difference.
But, getting back to the principles of pre-ECU tuning, smoothing and increasing airflow always seemed to help.

On my 2.4 I replaced my Mantec RAI and standard underwing pipework for the Nakatanega RAI, the one that exits through the top of the wing, not the side) and there was a very noticeable improvement in performance. The engine revs more freely and feels a lot less "strangled" at higher revs.

Went to give the Def a hose down, not a full wash, to remove a bit of rain sand marks. Got a bit distracted by a small area only for the timer to finish and me discover I was out of coins. I now have a half clean, half sandy Def. Fool. Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

Delivered it at the dealer this morning for the greasable hinges installation. Curious to see the result when I pick it up again tomorrow.
BTW - Just got an e-mail from a UK based supplier who also has those same greasable hinges added to his assortment now. Gareth Williams from Defender Upgrades. Maybe of use to some on here.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Yes i have looked at that a lot lately and i have seen a few painted and imo it does not look right, so the plan is in the future when the cage has to come off for some reason, i will get the whole lot shot blasted, then galvanised and then powder coated, but at the moment, i will call it patina as williamthedog has pointed out Wink 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

I’ve just purchased some terrafirma TF705 lights for my A bar.

Is it possible I could wire them into the same switch as my light bar that comes on with the full beam, or would it have to be a separate switch, again to come on with the full beam?

Also got a NAS LED reverse and fog light to fit which should be easier.

Yes, I suppose so. It's the metal kind, reasonable condition, as seen below. Are you interested? Drop me a pm if so.
