A forum member was making stainless ones a while back, (Mal) but he’s not on here anymore,
I brought one from ZunSport in Black Bentley style mesh, But I also brought the grille to match which did prove a costly exercise ![]() https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/ac...amp;adurl= 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

First time I managed to get mine replaced under warranty, second time I got a stainless one powder coated in black.
Plenty available online - google "defender aircon mesh stainless" or forum sponsor 4x4Overlander sell the Nakatanenga one http://www.4x4overlander.com/product/defen...stainless/ |

Thanks guys, but I made not have made my self completely clear - not unusual
![]() The piece under the grill seems to stain and/or corrode as well, especially around the rivets, so I'm not sure replacing just the grille solves the problem completely ![]() |

I can’t find the link now, but nakatenenga do replacement ss inserts for the grill. They look fairly good as the pattern of holes matches closely- but it has the (imho) naff bear icon in each corner.
Edit, you just drill out the rivets and bolt them in place. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 Last edited by UtilityTruck on 21st Apr 2018 5:01pm. Edited 1 time in total |

With aluminium corrosion (which both the grill and rivets are made of) its not unusual for the surrounding paintwork to get stained. The gill surround is fibreglass or a similar composite so will not corrode. When I replaced my grill with a stainless one I used stainless dome head bolts to secure it after cleaning the paintwork with T-cut - no corrosion or discolouration after that.

Brendan sells Nakatanenga ones in stainless steel, either natural finish or black. i decided on natural finish. My 90 is still under warranty but I decided to splash some cash rather than claim under warranty for JLR to fit another grille that would corrode within the next two years.

Good point, think I will go that way, to keep the oem look, but possibly in black

Mine is starting to look a bit tatty now. Just trying to decide between Nakatanenga or Zunsport.
Does anyone have a photo of the Zunsport lower with standard grille? |

Because I have the KBX grill and headlight surrounds I opted to fit the KBX lower grill.

Looks really great, but not sure if it would work without KBX grille?
I can feel another 4x4overlander spend coming on, as I love the Zunsport option, but I am keen to stay kind of oem with a modern twist ![]() |

Must admit without the KBX grill it probably wouldn’t work. Brendan will be happy to help you

I've got a britpart stainless lower grill on mine fits fine. The staining around the old rivets will polish off with some t-cut of similar.
I got some domed stainless Allen bolts instead of riveting it. |

Now I do want black and I don't want to be tight @rse here but:
On a well known on-line auction site I have seen: Powder coated ali grill including stainless fixings for £30 Powder coated stainless grill with no fixings also for £30 Whereas the Naka option is £57 + p&p I think and without fixings as far as I can see. I'm guessing the fixings wouldn't be expensive but are there good reasons why stainless is a better option than ali ![]() |

Similar to zsd-puma, I used torx machine screws instead of those poxy rivets. Defender 90XS SW
