Long term classic car ownership is the reason I'm going to this extent to keep it in good nick. I bet most on here appreciate how little effort it takes to prevent rust compared to treating rust and having to half re-build in the process let alone the cost of doing so Crying or Very sad

I've never had a brand new car before mate and more than likely will never again so I appreciate what you have. My last TD5 was 5 years old and was very sound underneath without treatment from new so yours will be very nice I'm sure. That's the nice thing about Landies it doesn't matter what age or condition they're in, they are all cool. Cool

Looks Whistle

It will never go near snow Rolling Eyes got the 109" for that. I don't mind that getting covered in road salt

Had a new Yamaha XJR 1300 a few years ago and I took it out when the salt on the roads was just white dust. It wrecked the engine, rusted the pipes everything Crying or Very sad It ruined the bike, the build quality isn't that great in the first place on Jap bikes

Noticed intermitant powerloss between 50 and 60. Got to Llangynidr and the local garage there did some diagnostics and then confirmed the intercoller was shot, proved by the oil seeping through the front grill. £265 fitted Rolling Eyes ah well

Took off & fitted new side step bars to passenger side. What a job. Took 2 hours to get the olds ones off, and they are only attached by 6 bolts, but boy, were they on fast!

As it is now coming down hard here, leaving drivers side til another day.

Steps are the Fire & Ice black ones with the rubber inserts - much better than my previous, seriously rusted old ones with the extremely slippery chequerplate on top. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey
