Looks great. Really need to do mine soon.
How did you prepare and what did you use? |

Looks great! Mine desperately needs doing too. I was considering taking a shortcut and not removing the tow bar bolts but seeing this reminds me if a job is worth doing, do it properly and remove the bolts! James

Toolstation pro industrial coat. Cheap aerosol but a good satin finish.
Prime then paint Rub down with scotchbrite pads first to clean metal then panel wipe and paint Front bumper is now off and is in a right state. Angle grinder with wire brush is the first plan if attack. It was slightly bent when I bought the car so I’m going to see if I can get it straight Side steps and steering guard will follow if the bumper comes up ok. |

The only other things done to this truck are clear LED lights, snow cowl, wingtop chequer plate, load area shelf and carpet, trans k9 dog box.

I know it's a bit late now but I always spray mine with acf 50 and have done since it was new. It's still as good as day one

Bumper and steering guard done. The bumper was rotten underneath. Really poor for five years old. I’ve got a fifty year old Vw that has bumpers that are in better condition than these.
Rear folding step left to do black then windscreen blocks in body colour. |

My insurance is due next month so I started to look around. Gave A-Plan a call as most on here seem happy with them. I nearly dropped a when they quoted over £1000.

Did you call the Thatcham office? They don't like everyone but I pay under half that with all mods declared. James

Yes called the thatcham office. Mentioned def 2.
I live in west lancs but have an L postcode and suspect this was the issue. LV have quoted half of what A plan did. |

I guess it must be a postcode issue then maybe.
I used to be with LV, no problems with them. I only went with APlan this time as they were a few pounds cheaper and forum sponsors. Truck is back in the dealership.
Last year there was a little work carried out that involved removing the timing cover. It leaks. So dealership are trying to put it right. Between them and extended warranty it’s costing somebody. I’m back in a disco sport for the 110th day in the last twelve months. Truck is five years old with 60000 miles on it. I’ve done 3500 miles in hire cars this year. Extended warranty for another year last week. Will do this up until 100,000 |

Had it back from dealership about four days. Leak seems to be sorted. It was crank seal and timing chain cover leaking. Gave it an A service last night the drove a short distance. It always sounds better after a filter and oil change.
