Drove 528 miles from St Martin de Belleville to Arras via Auxerre. Now broken thanks to the joy of Leffe. Auxerre is a gem. Off to the Commonwealth War Memorial in Arras in the morning before the ferry beckons.

You are right Gilarion, although the point of reference for the kids was Harry Potter!! Here is the house of the master stained window maker. Not a great pic, but as you can imagine the windows were pretty special.

Fit some stainless steel/anodised black wheel nuts. Painted centres with some buzzweld whilst wheel was off to freshen it up. Looks lot better for it.

After changing the valve on the filter head on the TD5 I thought all was good. Discovered yesterday that there is now a leak(I think its between the filter head and the connector).

Diesel was on the diff, trailing arm, the corner of the fuel tank and the floor. This is what I spotted after 70mile motorway run.

Picked up a new copper washer and will replace tonight. Sad and clean up the area 1999 Defender TD5 110

Drove to my preferred workshop to have rear prop UJ changed after incessantly squeaking at me for the past 1000 miles. (relative) silence now restored. Good job too as it was not long for this world.

Went for my last ski of the season with Mrs Grenadier. Practically empty, almost like skiing on a private piste. Bliss. Thumbs Up

Nice one Williamthedog, such a simple mod and very handy in this weather!

I calculated the mpg on the trip to the Alps, 23.93 over 1853 miles, mostly sat at 65-70. 352 litres of fuel at 1.45 euros per litre....£443.52. Add in £150 for the ferry and tolls of circa £120 (not had the Liberty tag invoice yet) and it’s around £700. The smiles were free 😁

Parked outside a job for a few minutes, came out to find the steering locked and the ignition not turning. 2 hours later I had half a dash and a smashed ignition assembly, which then led to a new ignition and 3 new door locks. Not exactly what I was expecting when I left the house this morning but I did enjoy the fixing.
