How to remove adhesive from wheel weights
I've recently fitted new tyres to the 110 and pulling the old adhesive balancing weights off has left a furry adhesive behind, does anyone have any suggestions on what to use to remove this?

I've tried brake cleaner and motorbike chain degreaser with a plastic scraper but neither have had much effect. I'm reluctant to use a scouring pad should it scratch the powdercoat.

WD40 let it soak and you can normally roll it off with your thumb (or your plastic scrapper). May leave residue behind, just more WD40 and a cloth. No damage to paint.

Yep soak with WD40 and use your credit card to scrape off.

Another one for WD40 - but Petrol will work the quickest and less elbow grease required

Brake cleaner definitely. I use it with a soft cotton rag to remove wheel weight adhesive. Makes the job simple and easy. I’ve done literally hundreds. Just make sure you use the bulk liquid and definitely NOT the aerosol type which IMHO is rubbish. I apply it from a pump up pressure sprayer. It’s a handy bit of kit to have it the garage as it makes short work of so many greasy/oily cleaning tasks.

Thanks all, used a combo WD40 and petrol both of which worked well but petrol was a bit quicker Thumbs Up 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop
