I know that you are looking away from Ipad, but I use an Ipad mini 2, then a combination of Co-pilot, maps.me, apple maps ,google maps and Igo. Using whichever is best suited to the situation. I can manage to download offline maps for maps.me and co-pilot, though not the whole world at once! I found a nice solid windscreen mount and I find the size of the ipad a real boon both for seeing the thing and entering data or switching views etc.

I had the same dilemma, I now use a Samsung galaxy tablet (android) running Locus Maps Pro App. I found Locus Maps to be really easy to use and reliable. Offline maps worked really well and the ability to extend storage via an SD card was really useful. I've used it in Europe and Morocco and been 100% reliable.
The built in GPS is ok but for piece of mind and accurate positioning I pair it with an external GPS too: https://www.flightstore.co.uk/pilot-suppli...iver-p3967 |

Memory Map used to, not sure if they still do. Focus is on walking and cycling though. If you have any recent OS Maps, they have a scratch off panel with a code that allows you to use them with their App. For a few ยฃยฃ per year you can have the whole of the UK on your phone, printable and route planning too. |

Hi Grenadier!
Yes, no problem; GLO works extremely well with iPad No issues with google maps But - GLO is a GPS device only; you would still need an internet connection to use online maps 2021 Defender 90 D250 1998 TUL 1997 TUM FFR 2003 Defender 110SW Td5 1985 ExMOD 110 ST 3.9 V8 1971 Series IIa Lightweight |

Hi. I'm using a asus 10 inch tablet running memory map,
They have a fair range of maps from road atlas to 1:25K detailed ones. https://memory-map.com/Mapping_Software_add-ons.html with a licence upgrade they say you can then upload and import your own paper maps. the device and software is fine to use and the GPS in my experience hasn't been that 'out' and kept me on track. Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest |

So you can or can't navigate with GLO? What is the GPS doing, just offering position? Do you need an App if you can't use an internet connection? I'm looking for a non internet-mobile set-up if possible. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

GLO provides exact position (gps location); it reads location more frequently than phone/tablet built gps sensor thus provides better accuracy
internet connection is needed if you use online maps like google maps, to browse the map itself if you want an offline solution then you need the offline maps; here are number of choices but mine is maps.me; that is an app which provides offline maps which you need to download prior to use 2021 Defender 90 D250 1998 TUL 1997 TUM FFR 2003 Defender 110SW Td5 1985 ExMOD 110 ST 3.9 V8 1971 Series IIa Lightweight |
