Save your money, spend it on hotels. It's a lot of weight up top and it'll make handling interesting.

thank you for your advice looking at the cost of good racks and roof tents i could stay in very luxurious hotels.............................thank you 2016 Discovery 4 1989 90 CSW V8 (fully rebuilt and running like a dream) 1996 defender tray back fully rebuilt/loaded for challenge events |

What sort of travelling do you intend doing?
Many, many people travel with roof tents without issue. Extreme side slopes or going around roundabouts at F1 speeds would prove 'interesting' For a 90 with a hard shell tent then unless you have another use for the roof rack without the roof tent on then you are better off with two or three roof bars. For a folding roof tent then two good quality roof bars will do. Use of roof bars save weight up top and also some pennies. If going down the roof tent route get good quality bars and tent. Brendan |
