As James suggested earlier I would try your local hunt kennels. They usually take fallen stock no problem. It may be that yours has now been laying about a bit too long and with the missing tags they may not be so keen but worth a couple of phone calls. There are three hunts (foxhounds) in Lancashire plus there maybe bloodhound packs as well. Defender 90XS SW

Coming from a farming background this is well out of order.A conscientious farmer would not have put you in such a position in the first place which would suggest that there is a deeper side to this which is not entirely lawfull.
I would be playing merry hell with Environmental Health about this and The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs especially when there are no identifying marks on the carcase. The amount of paperwork involved with keeping farm livestock is mind blowing and all movement of livestock has to be recorded and the records kept for inspection from the Ministry, large fines can be handed out as we are pretty much the only country that can trace the meat on your table to the point of origin. Yes this system is flawed but you will find that the main flaws occour after the animals enter the processors, generally British Farming has its own house in order and is proud of the fact.

Made some progress. I happened to speak to a neighbour about this late yesterday, and they know a local farmer, so they gave them a call. The localish farmer came down and looked at the sheep and despite no markings reckoned he knew who’s it was by the breed. I’m waiting on a call to confirm if it does indeed belong to said person. If it does I’m hopeful they’ll come for it. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

glad you got it sorted, I have been following this, and I am very surprised that the council and police wouldn't really help. But then again the council like to tear down listed buildings etc, and the police are that under staffed now they don't really have the man power. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Opposite problem, this little chap was born this morning in the snow. He hadn’t got to his feet so after a while of watching and waiting I went down. He was soaking and freezing to the ground, the wind is biting. Fingers crossed he survives. Our tenant is coming to fetch him now.

Well 'Snowy' as he was named by the kids is back in the field with his mum and doing A ok. A nice strong ram lamb. The tenant decided to lamb earlier than normal this year and it has't gone well with this weather. I just hope they don't decide to fold, they've had 3 good years before this. Fingers crossed.
