Just reading this thread with interest as seen this
https://www.landroverdefendersecurity.com/...f-2-2-tdci Wondering how easy it is to fit. Where would it fit and how would you get the wireing into the cab safely? My biggest concern is knocking the switch while driving. Especially with the location I would ideally want to fit. |

Interesting. They must have read this thread
![]() I share your safety concerns. You could use a locking switch instead. However, it has to lock in the ON postion. I have modified this http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/carling...k-789.html to lock in both positions (for a different purpose). Or a rotary switch. Or two switches, mounted not close to each other. Or any other kind of switch that isn't easily operated http://www.instructables.com/id/Frankenstein-Light-Switch/ ![]() |

This is a mod I've been considering for my Td5 90.
I was thinking of adding a small discreet button somewhere out of the way, wired to energise a small relay fed from the ignition live to make the connection through the inertia switch, that way there is no need to switch anything off when leaving the car, just need to press the button before starting once the ignition is on. |

Exactly why I think safety should be considered here and a cheap little switch might not be enough. It's about assessing risks. It might work ok for a long time, but if and when it fails it can be devastating. But hey, I'm German - can't help thinking that way; bloody genes... ![]() |

Changed 1 relais and the problem was solved. The buyer just didn't understand the system. Roel

I think that the longer this thread stays in the public domain, the less effective this security feature becomes.
