That's a nice find, and I am glad that it will rise again rather than simply getting scrapped. I look forward to seeing your progress on this.
As you say, a very rare vehicle. Well done! |

Thank you for the offer, the original one is in the back and will go again! It’s been off the road at least 10 years and has definitely spent some time as a farm hack. Currently planning to lift the body whole and refurb it in one piece. |

This is my -86 V8 county. It used to have also these headlight washers when new but couldn’t find some anywhere. Click image to enlarge |

Not quite the update I was looking for, but still nice to see her.
How do you decide what to keep and what to replace? Chassis is rotten so easy decision there. Bulkhead needs work but is ok so will go again. Body work is repairable, needs a new bonnet and as front doors are available again it’ll get a new pair.

Ha! That's the courtyard at Floors Castle so I'm guessing it belongs to the Duke. Should have been maintained regardless of cost.
I used to get a lift to school in one identical to this - great, great vehicles. 110 UW - '15 2.2 90 - '85 V8 soft-top RRC - '84 5 door, Option Pack C, 33k miles from new --- Elise S1 - '00 Millennium SE Elan +2 - '68 kit built by my dad Panda 4x4 - '87 in Italy |

The world famous "Dunsfold Lansbury" re-commissioned it.
Never heard of them. If it doesn't sell, it will be because they are not asking enough money for it....... |

eBay has IMO a much nicer one for a lot less money with a reputable dealer.

Mine might not have looked quite as rough as yours when I first bought it, but underneath it was a different story. All 5 doors were absolutely rotten, the bulkhead was twisted, the roof had a split in it (I'm guessing it had been in an accident) the engine was umm "tired" @ 189,000 miles, the gearbox was the original 4 speed and howled when I drained the ep 90 and put the proper 20/50 in it. The chassis was rotten, the shocks were empty and every bush on the thing was completely goosed. However it had a valid MoT, goodness knows how, and I paid £500 for it, 20 years ago. I must have liked something about it because 20 years and (another) 193,000 miles later, I still have it
