My seats never get too hot, think you might have a problem there!

Mine is the exact opposite and neither of mine heat but both heater buttons illuminate. The dealer said to bring it back but that’s a 200mile round trip. I’m not electronically minded so no idea where to start but will see whether my new Corbeaus heat when I install them on Monday

Almost certainly means that the element has shorted out. Replacement is the only fix but in the meantime I'd disconnect it to prevent it being switched on by accident and catching fire. I can’t help diagnose the fault, but replacing the heater pad,is not difficult, I did it this weekend using an Exmoor trim one. If you have done a lot of miles, think about placing the foam too. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I'd agree with LandRoverAnorak, the element itself has probably shorted out. I'd expect if you left it on that it would blow a fuse if it already hasn't done so.
I had one go in a similar way on my old one - although I never felt the heat just a burning smell when I got back in the Landy so the fuse must have blown quite quickly. As said, they are relatively easy to replace. If I remember correctly the pad I bought didn't come with an OEM connector so I had to join it to the old one. The Exmoor ones have the OEM connector of them. Downside to that is that it is a bit tough to stretch the grommet in the seat base enough to fit it through. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
