So on the to do list is tidying up one of the previous owners cabling and random switch collection.
I am thinking of mounting a bunch of carling switches to cover, .. rear work lights .. front driving lights .. light bar .. interior lights Leaving space for future expansion to cover a possible winch installation, other lights, etc So I’ve got a 200tdi, show me where you’ve mounted yours? (Oh err) I am going keep hazards and fog light in the same location (near the door) but probably upgrade the switches there too to carling switches. It’s currently a random mix of OEM and other |

Probably the neatest and most OEM looking setup would be the mud centre console: http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/mud-stu...nsole.html Matt.

There are various options available for fitting extra switches to the centre of the dashboard. Have a search for 'center switch panel' on eBay:

Thanks guys. Quite like the look of the Mud one, plenty of space, option for a CB later.
Might even consider moving the hazards and that over to it too.. all switches in one place! |

I moved the hazards over to the centre but then converted back to the original position. 1990 200tdi conversion 90

Why didn’t you like them in the new position?

It was mainly due to having to extend the existing loom and I managed to do this but used too thick gauge wiring. So it took up too much space behind the Mud dash and it was too inflexible. My mistake really, may have been better using thinner gauge wiring. 1990 200tdi conversion 90

Looks good
Has anyone put carling switches in the lower right switch panel where the hazards and dogs are? I was looking for a mounting plate to use but can only find either OEM fit or an expensive one from the US |

I don't think that plate is big enough for Carling switches. If you want different types of switches to use there then 'E-Switches' are a direct replacement. You can buy them from lots of places but this gives a good idea:
http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/electri...ounts.html I'd also recommend replacing the plastic plate with an aluminium or stainless one, as the original is prone to crack. Metal replacements are available from eBay for not much money. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? 👍
I saw this for the lower panel, https://www.seriesdefender.com/dash-switch-panel-row.html Only seems to be available in the US though and quite expensive. I will replace the mounting plastic when I get there (or extend the loom and put everything in the middle) |
