Bluest,

Have you any details of exactly how the basket mounts / is fixed. It says no drilling, is that right, and how quickly can it be installed / removed when not required. Any close up picks of mounts and slide bolts would be useful,

Thanks

Andy

There are four brackets that replace the 4 interior grab handles in the boot, the 2 above the rear door for latching the basket and the 2 on the sides to provide the hinge. If you left the brackets in place, but just removed the basket, it’s just the two hinge bolts would need unscrewing. You could probably do that in 15 mins with a bit of practise. It’s just the basket is quite unwieldy due to its size.

I haven’t any decent pics, the lens on my phone is Censored hence the blurry pics at the start of the thread, sorry. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Hi Bluest,

Thanks for the reply, that all seems dead straight forward. I will be buying one ASAP, ready for my summer trip to the Alps. I’ve already removed the rear most seats and done the base similar to you, so half way there,

Thanks again,

Andy

It is a good product for all the light weight stuff that usually gets in the way. Could even put a couple of camp chairs up their for easy access. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Kargo = Karoo ? Ok, thought it was something different Rolling Eyes

The Kargo Carrier looks a nice bit of kit. 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.

How much does the Tuff Trek affect headroom in the back?

I do quite fancy one and realistically I don't get in the boot very much, but I was wondering if it would be too low when it comes to 'comfortable' access and loading other storage (side cages and chest) in the back?

In terms of loading the boot, I don’t notice it at all really. It’s maybe three or four inches lower than the top of the door opening at the most. I’m 6ft and a bit and don’t hit my head on it or anything. Obviously if you were actually climbing inside it would be in the way. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I'd imagine you could climb in because when it's folded up with a little ease.
I sometimes carry passengers in my 90 (2 x fold forward rear seat) and opted to have the kargo carrier in place with seats folded but then I remove easily. I say this with trepidation not delivered yet Laughing .
I did think about removing seats etc and have big load bay. But constantly removing/installing seats is not appealing.

I wish I could kit out the back of our 110 like this but we need the seats Big Cry

Having witnessed a car rollover recently, luckily no one hurt, but personal effects and jack, wheel braces etc scattered everywhere around the car. It reminded me of the importance of securing the load! Shocked James

How big is the basket on delivery and how do you get it in the vehicle?, is it one piece?, the website says it was designed for a 110 but "should" or could fit a 90, anyone fitted one in a 90?
thanks

The tuff trek basket goes through the door diagonally, it's all one piece. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Thanks for the quick reply Thumbs Up
so if someone had a full length drawer fitted in the back you wouldn't be able to get the drawer in? Optimists say the glass is half full..

I think you might. If you could get the dimensions from somewhere you could check it out with a tape measure. Its a bit shorter front to back than side to side I think, so you could probably put it in narrow ent forst and turn it inside the car. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
