Hey guys, anyone know anything about the unit fitted to the 70th?
http://www.caradvice.com.au/614927/land-ro...ed/photos/ Or units of a similar type? Haven’t seen any like that on any major brands’ websites at all. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Think I read in Autocar or similar, that all the tech is in-house JLR. Not sure whether the unit face plate is also made in house or bought in. If you're after the look and don't need the SatNav screen, this is the closest thing. Apparently brilliant sound (so might be lost in a Def) and bloody expensive:

I just wuite like the idea of more than just a lcd matrix display without having to go the whole 2DIN or fold out route. Will see if they sell them as an upgrade, can’t have been cost effective for them just to make 150 surely. Cheers, David

I think JVC did a single Din with small screen, not sure if still available nor if it was SatNav compatible. Monsieur Le Grenadier

At 150.000£ a pop, cost effectiveness of that Hifi unit seems pretty irrelevant to me. Personally still prefer very much the SVX Garmin set up though. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Becker don’t seem to really exist any more to the public? They have a couple of legacy items but website is 7+ years old and story don’t really seem to have any active presence?

Good spot, does look very similar. North of £1000 less fitting for the Porsche, so no doubt a retro fit LR badged model would be similar if even available.

To me it looks like a Kraemer KR1C. Also used in the Mercedes Citan.

Indeed, and in a Defender IMHO inherently dangerous. In that position it distinctly takes your eyes very much off the road, and for sat nav use that would be the last place I'd put it. In fact, slightly lower and smaller than a 2 DIN even. Personally on that model I'd have expected a 2 DIN. TOTR Top of the range unit at the least.
