Joking aside though, I’m wondering whether anyone has fitted a gas strut along the lines of the type available for the rear door? |

I pondered the use of a gas strut but then realised it’d be total pain, the door trying to spring fully open in tight spaces. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Left hand front, good news though once I disseminated the smart arse suggestions( bad Eric) I also found the links ( good Eric) posted. Tightened up the 8mm bolt, fixed. 'Peace of '. Thanks Eric
