Can you still use a towing pin on that bumper with the A/C front end? Darren

Hi Stacey. Do you want a winch bumper or a non-winch bumper.

I have had both a tubular winch bumper and have ended up with a Mantec winch bumper that I think looks great. Purposeful. Understated. Strong. Original. Defender.

Liked the tubular, had it fitted for years and it did a lot of heavy work, but prefer the standard looking Mantec.

I do not like the RDX bumper, they look awful in the flesh. Not a fan of the Bowler ones either look flimsy, a bit plastic fantastic, I know they are not, but they look it.

I like that Bumper a lot and it's what I'd have gone for had I not chosen Bowler, which I really, really like. Thumbs Up

I’ve got a First Four HD bumper with a 2” receiver hitch. Galvanized and then painted.

Not sure if they offer this still today, but I have a gloss black Alive Tuning bumper with DRL. Gary sent this over now about 8 years ago I believe, and it still looks brand new today with DRL functioning flawlessly. It is soft Dinitrolled at the inside.

You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Crumbs you've started something Scott Rolling with laughter

Choosing a bumper is almost a perennial issue for me.

I've replaced the std one a few years ago - like for like - because I 'like' the std look. Even with my OCD and dinitrol treatment (inside) it's starting to deteriorate.

We are quite literally spoiled for choice and I really like the look of quite a number of those posted myself Thumbs Up

My favourite so far is the Terrafirma tapered version as it looks 'almost' std but subtly better Confused

(And it's a decent price)

But could I live without the end caps........

Great thread/post Thumbs Up

^^^ "We are quite literally spoiled for choice"

And herein lies my concern about the new Defender. Will it ever offer the same opportunity for individual tastes, needs, modification as ours? Sadly methinks not. They will be 'individualised' by colour and a few bolt on parts from LR's parts catalogue, much like a D4. Imagine a 'which bumper' thread on the D4 forum, (no doubt very limited), and perhaps it offers an insight into the future of the next gen Def. Big Cry Monsieur Le Grenadier

^ Its great and I think one of the main reasons we all love these cars,

My previous cars, mostly German, fast and full of toys all I could change were wheels.... pretty much that's it.

These trucks you can change almost any part to suit your look, retro or monster truck or somewhere in the middle Smile

The New Defender as you say will slot in the range and probably 'look' very similar to the other marques with updates every few years. You maybe able to add a few bits but doubt anything like the choice of ours Smile

I think, as I bought a spare standard bumper ages ago I will have a go at making one with some lights Smile nothing to lose only some time in the garage...

Thumbs Up

Does anyone have a set of military overriders fitted? I thought my ser 111 looked the biz with its military bumper and bumperettes, but not 100% sure how it would look on a 90? If I were to go this route I’d prob get a galvanised military style and then bolt on the bumperettes. Have seen early pics with this setup, just wondering if anyone here had it?
