Front washer jet
HI,
The front washer jet appears to have disappeared overnight! I now have just a stub sticking out the front. Does anyone know if the washer nozzle has perhaps become unclipped and fallen off or has it been vandalised?? Can I get just the nozzle assembly or is it a more complex job behind the dash? Thanks for your help to this rather bizarre issue! Thumbs Up

Would have thought you can get a replacement nozzle quite easily, there was a post to an upgraded 5 or 6 headed replacement version that I can’t find a link to but while your fitting a new one you may as well upgrade it as the original is pretty poor

The nozzle bit pops off in freezing weather. There is a thread on the site regarding options to replace.

The bit that pops off is factory available part and a wee drip of superglue and a tap with a hammer saves stripping the dash. Dont buy the complete nozzle and pipe as removing the part you need weakens it and it will pop off again.

Last year the complete nozzle was a fraction of the cost of the part that pops off on its own Shocked

On a Puma, you can replace the whole nozzle if you remove the centre panel of the dash (although it is a bit of a fiddle), you do not have to remove the entire dash.

The 6-jet upgrade is made by Optimill and is excellent but pricey.

Useful tip for everyone, thanks Blackwolf.
I happened to spot the washer jet behind the centre panel last week whilst I had the panel removed for some other work I was doing. I made a mental note that it looked as though it could be replaced if needed. Good to know this is the case.

it's easy to replace on a Puma, but idealy you do need someone to hold the jet on the outside while you do up the nut inside. I managed to do mine by temporarily holding the outer part with masking tape while i got the nut most of the way on.

Antifreeze in washers not a good idea but screenwash gets a 10 from Len.

'screenwash' contains antifreeze.

Just like 'Coolant' also contains antifreeze.

Different stuff. Always keep antifreeze for engine and screenwash for the washer bottle.
Antifreeze is a known paint stripper.

Yes you're right "Coolant" is different stuff to "Screenwash" - but they both contain 'antifreeze'. Antifreeze being any substance that prevents freezing....

Antifreeze is still a valid term to use for both engine coolant and screenwash.

Salt is also a type of antifreeze, but i wouldn't put that in my engine coolant or my screenwash. It's a known rust promoter....
