Key Fob ID for a replacement.....
Hi All

Got stuck tonight.....keyfob was very intermittent, just luck I got it to work after dismantling it, replacing the battery, banging it etc......took an hour of Censored about with it.....Got home ok and the spare fob is fine.......hw do I buy a replacement with the same frequency/ID etc ?

YWX101220 - They're about £90 plus programming from Land-Rover.

However you can just buy a second hand Rover fob and get it programmed to the car. Actually the car is programmed to recognise the fobs, they all give out a different code.

So long as the fob is a 17TN or 3TXB type it should work fine.

Is it your rubber buttons that are worn through? If it is you can buy a new casing and buttons from Land-Rover for around a tenner, just transfer the circuit board over.

There are people on ebay who will replace the microswitches on the circuit board if they're faulty.

Incidentally, you can just unlock the door with the key, the alarm will sound when you open the door but when it does just put the key in the ignition and start the engine, the alarm should stop as it'll sense the fob being there.
