I would be inclined to put more bolts in

Having said that I put new seals in mine when I rebuilt after the respray. They're really thick (40mm or so) 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

It has the correct bolts and brackets George. Additional ones would have to be drilled, not the easiest and permanent holes

I would unbolt it, replace the seal, and then check for rust/other issues. the standard seal is good except for the one spot by the seam of the cappings. you can add a bit of sealant, but something is cleary wrong fundementally if it's leaking.
It's an hour's work and parts are cheap. V8 90...WIP |

Masking tape, upper and lower part of gap, apply silicone liberally in one big line with BARREL gun (skeleton guns are a waste of money and effort) lick finger and smooth it in in one big line. Peel masking tape off.

Sikaflex mastic is a great product we use it a lot at work, it’s easy to finish (like bathroom sealant) but does stick like

Jim, I had a leak under the rear quarter light (near side) and I thought it was the tub seal, put some dum dum around the inside of the light, no more leaks, worth a try

Greeni has made a very neat job, But I would put new a seal in as mastic is quite severe

Knew I'd seen it somewhere ![]() Thanks Greeni. Trade tip - Better than licking your finger, use a spray mister, with some water and a few drops of washing up liquid ![]() |

I do the same as greeni but use a polymer sealant instead of silicone. I also do the front bulkhead.

Plenty of different brands of proper car body sealer available for the job.
Silicone is a nightmare if you ever have to have any paintwork done. |
