The standard internals are good for 200bhp and 550nm of torque as per IRB developments demo 90.
Nothing you can do intercooler or exhaust wise is going to give anything like the £ to bhp yield as a remap 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

I thought they must be rated as such but I began to wonder when IRB have the only example of this. Do you have any idea what Ian did to reach those figures ?
I’ve got my Remap booking in with Empire tuning after Christmas I can’t wait ! |

I decatted, fitted silicone pipes, ailisport intercooler, replaced the air intake for 4" tubing, it revved a lot freer and seemed to hold speed a bit better.
the real difference was the remap and hybrid turbo, a whole different car now! I love it even more 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

Ahh there we go Welshsurferdude! I’m going to be fitting my decat as soon as I get chance and I’m working my way through buying and fitting silicone hoses atm. I will be uprating the intercooler when I’ve got the cash also !
Do you have any pictures of your tubing on the air intake just so I can have a look at what sort of thing you’ve done ? I love my 2.4 but when ever I drive my disco I get back into it feeling like it’s lacking a little ! |

the tubing is fairly simple really I just cut out the original LR tubing and put in 4" tubing from ebay
I would definitely do remap after you done all that, you wont believe the difference! I didn't and I have had 2 pumas and done 100,000 miles, my only regret is doing it sooner! Bear in mind that Ford got 140bhp from the exact same engine in the Transit, Land Rover just detuned it in the map to (unsuccessfully) stop the clutch and transmission falling apart. As Grafty99 said, others have gone to 200bhp. If you're going to upgrade anything, i'd upgrade the clutch and the adaptor shaft between the gearbox and transfer box. And one peice rear drive shafts. |

Thanks, Zsd that’s the sort of advice I was looking for as it’s not advertised by the tuning companies.
