Swivel housings overhauled
At last have overhauled the swivel housings, and she drives a dream. Renewed the swivels with Britpart Kits from first four. The kits included Teflon swivel with top pin and sims ,main seal ,seal for ABS ,Timkens top and bottom bearings and one shot grease.Had to buy the inner seal as a extra. Also fitted new Timkens main bearing sets. Had a problem removing the off side drive flange which was solidly rusted to the shaft so had to cut it off after hammering and heating it. So purchased a new cv joint for the off side and drive flange. Also had a leak on the near side calliper so made the decision to fit new stainless steel pistons and seal kits to both sides. Fitted new bolts where needed also. In for penny in for a pound fitted new discs and pads both sides as the near side pads where contemplated with brake fluid.

The time wasn’t an issue because I had another vehicle to use. Did the work at weekends. Maybe able to complete the job in two or three days if all goes ok

Looks good!

I did my swivel rebuild a last year ago and it does transform the drive when it is all new and set up spot on.

Very satisfying job.

Thumbs Up
