Most insurance companies will cover you for free on a loan car for short periods if you speak to them. Russell

Stratstone, Cardiff - Free Loan Car.

With my previous Mazda the Dealership tried to charge for Insurance BUT I showed them my Insurance certificate which covered me for Loan Cars whilst car was being serviced/repaired - NOT due to an accident. They just took a photo copy of the certificate. I would suggest that as this is a manufacture's recall - there should be NO charge and Land Rover should pick up any charge the Dealership might make for a loan car.

I was asked to pay £10 during my last service, I complained and they knocked it off the final bill. I think it's a bit of a cheek really they should have an all drivers policy for loan cars.

the £10.00 is to reduce your excess to £50.00 from £500.00/£1000.00 if you damage the loan car on a traders policy. 2.4 90 XS

If you are getting a loan car for warranty work ensure it is suitable for your normal needs. My standard needs is towing trailers so a loan car without a tow bar is not much good to me.

Friend had Disco 2 in for accident recently. Standard loan car was something like a Ka/Corsa/eurobox. NO! Insurance company landed up sourcing a Volvo V70 60 plate from about 200 miles away!

Ensure you get a suitable loan car

A good pal had a tree land on his pickup roof and they gave him a Saab hatchback which was returned covered in mud and deer mess, just as his pickup would have been, like for like next time i reckon. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
