Hello & JW Speaker 8700
Hello all, I have just joined the forum but have been an avid reader for a while. I have finally bought my Puma a one owner 07 90 xs. I'm delighted with it. Can't believe what an improvement it is over the TD5!

I'm thinking of upgrading the headlights and splashing out on the JW Speaker 8700's. I've read various posts about these lights and they look fantastic but I would like to know how good they are on full beam. I have no spot lights fitted at the moment. I live in the sticks so good lights are important.

Having fitted them, do they make the fitting of spots redundant. They are a lot of cash, so one would expect them to be amazing!!!!

Anybody prepared to given them a review!

I've also been looking at the 8700 replacements. But because they are LEDs doesn't the same rules apply as to replacement xenons, meaning you have to install jet light washers and auto leveling headlight thingys to get them approved for on-road use?

Wrong! They are direct replacment and jet light washers and auto leveling headlight thingys are NOT needed within the EU! WANTED:

Well now, that's good news indeed!

But how come it's not needed for these LED lights when they do in fact produce more specific light per watt than xenons do?

Tim at the Mobile Centre is the best person to ask about the Speaker products as he imports them. His phone number is 0844 578 1000. He is a helpful guy and certainly knows his way around LEDs

About right sounds alot but if you consider what a LR HiD upgrade costs its in the same ball park

Also this really is the only legal HL upgrade that gives what it states on the tin Thumbs Up
