found the problem - fan switch is scuppered, it don't work on position one.
works on a/c switch at speed 1 otherwise it's speed II and III. any thoughts on whether that's the resistor pack next to motor or the speed switch? ps - how can LR possibly charge £400+ for a switch? |

Tis fixed!
I've done it. It's taken less than 100,000 miles to fix it, albeit slightly more than 7 years. As I've long suspected it's been a problem with the diff lock. having had the gear levers / linkages out tonight and a load of adjust, rebuilding and persuding with THE tool of choice (sometimes referred to as a hammer) I now a little stubbing knob that works. The transfer box lever / know thing actually fully engages diff UNLOCK. for some reason the through into diff unlock never quite went far enough over to the right for the selector on the transfer box to fully engage / seat into the relevant de-dent and as such while driving along would make it's way towards diff-lock causing all sorts of problems. almost 100k miles and it just keeps getting better |
