The cam shaft sensor, if it fails, will allow the engine to turn over but not fire. It’s happened to mine twice. Maybe yours is intermtantly faulty. It won’t show a fault code either. If you’ve got access to the Lynx diagnostics I think you can view the cam sensor output to see if it’s working. Sensor is only used on start up, so you f it fails whist running you won’t notice until you next try to start the engine. The sensor is easy to change and from memory not too much expensive from Ford. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Somebody diagnosed my cam sensor using the Lynx, but I don’t know how to do it. I would try to do that before buying a sensor in case it’s money wasted. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Hi again!

This afternoon I went back to the Landy... Fired up straight away... No problems at all! Haven't touched anything. I then went on to look at the cam sensor and all looked fine when checking with a multimeter. Could take it to work and check with an oscilloscope but I'm pretty sure it's okay.

After, I disconnected the immobiliser coil (AMR4897) that fits around the ignition barrel and just as before, it fired up again.. Does my immobiliser do anything? - looking in lynx diagnostics, the passive immobiliser and theft system are active. But I've disconnected the only part that would actually recognise the key.

I probably will go back to the Landy tomorrow and it won't start Laughing

Nanocom should be arriving on Tuesday! Thumbs Up

Thanks,
Ollie

Does an immobilised 10AS stop the engine from cranking? - If it does then I can rule that out and just check the signal is getting to the ipac.

Update: Plugged in the Nanocom today and the Passive immobiliser is disabled, and it's set up for TD5/MEMS.
The lynx diagnostics read that the passive immobiliser was active but I'm going to trust the NANOCOM

Fixed!

It was the IPAC not passing the signal onto the ECU inttermitently! Got around it with a mod and now it starts everytime Smile

Ok i uunderstood that IPAC is instrument cluster, right? I checked signal from AS10 into IPAC and it's changing when fob is close to immortal coil. But I don't know how to check outgoing signal to ECM? Signal is 0.9V all the time.
