Some years ago, some friends of a friend used to take their two WWII jeeps laning with us, which was hilarious. The lack of protection meant those on board ended up more muddy that the vehicles. Darren

"Can't say I've ever seen a convoy of Jeeps doing any lanes either, has anyone else?"
They're not UK lanes, but it's definitely a convoy of jeeps. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

I've owned wartime Jeeps in the past, great fun, easy to drive and a fair amount of low down grunt. Passengers really do need to hang on at times! Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I put these words on another thread on this forum just now, but why do so many people on this forum slate Jeeps?
If it were not for the classic Jeep, then the LR/series/90/110/defender would never have been invented. There are more vehicles out there other than a LR product ya know! ![]() It might just be light hearted banter to some, but it just sounds like stupidity to me. |

It's only a bit of a light heated joke.
I actually like the Wrangler, but I don't like the fact many are auto or much of the rest of the range. We always end up with the toned down versions most of the time whilst over in the USA they have the ones that are much more appealing to us and special editions. Eventually in the long term distant future, it's something I'd consider as a possibility. Similar situation with the pick up trucks, we end up getting the boring bog standard models nothing overly special at all. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Diesel Jim,
![]() Having driven a Wrangler Rubicon on the trails pictured above, all three Landrover owners in our vehicle said, "I want one of these". Coming home to a 122hp diesel biscuit tin on wheels was a bit deflating. Anyone that's had that experience wouldn't think it was wise to mock Jeeps. As for the toned down models we get over here, a friend of mine has recently bought one of the Rubicon Recon limited edition models. 285hp, Dana heavy duty axles, locking diffs and rock sliders all standard fitment. The only way it was toned down is it didn't have the BF Goodrich MT tyres that the US model has. |

You think THAT'S stupid? We own 2 Jeep Wranglers for the sole and exclusive purpose of reminding us how lucky we are to own a small fleet of Defenders ****CENSORED**** |

![]() Click image to enlarge There are other soft & fragile beasts which need big long groups to make it through anything mildly rough - we've seen it all before. ****CENSORED**** |

My dads jeep cherokee liberty was nice to drive, had all the toys etc. It was the poor dealer support at the time sadly that finally made my dad get rid. this was back in 2013. Not sure what the jeep dealers are like now, might be a lot better. I do like the vauxhall frontera ![]() Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
