Oztent Query
I am sorely tempted by an Oztent RV1.

Unlike the other oztents it packs up to 1.6m long, so I am wondering if this can feasibly be fitted across the loadbay on a defender. Does anyone know if it will fit in?

With the doublecab, I am a bit limited when it comes to storing long things, and I whilst I have the roof rack, I would like to be able to have the choice as to whether to carry it or not.

I am faily sure I cannot fit it along the loadbay, as the tub isn't deep enough.

Alternately does anyone have any other suggestions for decent smaller tents? Ideally in a ripstop polycotton rather than nylon?

Cheers

It's not intended for extended trips - it should be big enough for 2 people for the odd single night sleeping.

however, if it won't fit in the truck, it is not a contender anyway.

Cheers

Mark one of our customers carries a RV1 in/across the back of a 90 pickup and he loves the tent.

Am packing for a show at the moment. IF i remember I will see how one fits into the back of a 110 USW this weekend. If you go to one of the LRO shows you could always try and see how one fits for yourself.

The RV1 is bigger enough for 2 people to sleep in.

For Sonic we could always do a special deal on a F30X Jet Tent Thumbs Up Whistle Rolling with laughter

PS There is an RV1 on fleabay at the moment sat at £175. It is in Marks neck of the woods. Auction finishes tonight

No, it won't fit. I used to have a RV1 and is too wide to fit across the rear tub. I could fit it lengthwise in my CSW 110 if I folded the rear seat back rest flat on the single seat - it then ran from the rear to the back of the front passenger seat leaving two useable seats in the second row.

It is fine for two people but is the only RV not tall enough to stand up in. John
