Puma not turning off!
Asking for a friend....

He has a 2008 Puma and the engine is continuing to run even when he removes the key from the ignition. Turning the ignition off kills the heater blower and stereo, the the engine keeps running. He also discovered that with everything off, if he switches on his side lights, the ignition comes on (fuel gauge, temp gauge etc) !

He recently fitted led lights all round (including headlights) but no other recent electrical work other than that.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

I had this once and it was a dodgey accessory plugged into the 12V lighter socket. Remove and isolate said socket.

defiantly a dodgy earth. I had a vauxhall years ago that would run as long as I had my foot on the brake. It was caused after changing a rear brake light. 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Yes he did change the back lights. Not sure if the brake pedal will kill the engine. I'll get him to try that. Is there a fix, if that is the case?

Many thanks for the info guys.

First re-install the original bulbs, second try another type of LED bulbs.

On my car was happen the same "strage" effect, after that I installed JW Speaker round rear LED lights.

Also the Wipac kit are good Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
