That’s my plan. I had a nanocom plugged in and when I was spinning the wheel it was registering a speed.
The top bearing is what’s caused the damage..... Click image to enlarge The metal in the bearing case is pretty soft and I think the burr comes from when one of the rollers dropped out. |

that looks like one of the later bearings which you now get as OEM parts, you are better off fitting the timken earlier style bearing that is not integral to the top king pin. it also has more rollers. the cgae of yours shows it with the later (less roller design) Cheers

I ended up buying a complete kit as the ball had some wear / grooves on it, and obviously the top bearing was mashed.
Id forgotten how much hassle rebuilding a hub is and I’ve been doing it an hour at the time in the evenings so I don’t lose patience with it. One thing at least is that the predload is a joy to do when everything’s new. Another couple of hours and it should be done. I hope then of course that the ABS works as it should! |

we were finding those kits with the later style of bearing just werent taking the wear very well so resorted back to the older style with sep parts. its worth considering next time if you have large off sets, wide tyres or lots of 'faster' off road. Cheers
