Seeing as the year is flying by I thought that seeing as I had 5 minutes that could be stretched when needed, good job really, I would check over the Eberspacher.
Good job I'd got a bit of extra time, Land Rover repair time as it's commonly known, as it took a bit longer. The heater hasn't been fired up for a couple of months but started pretty much straight away, that's where I should have left it but no, I decided to clean out the gauze filter on the pulse pump seeing as the diesel in the seperate tank had been sloshing about all summer plus it was burning with a lt of white smoke, the diesel must have got a fair bit of water in it. Air line out and blew the gauze clean, back up the pipe into the tank to clear any sludge. Put it back together when the fun started. It usually takes a couple of startups to get the diesel through but after 4 mis-starts a more detailed look was needed. It turned out that when I pushed the feed pipe back into place I had kinked it stopping a free flow to the pump. All sorted now and ready for those frosty mornings |

Not so much today but last weekend, myself and a couple of fellow members of our local Land Rover Club went to support the Vintage Sports Car Club at one of their Hill Climb Events. Our duties were to be on hand to clear any failed hill climbs of any cars that either failed the stage or had a breakdown.
When you take into account that these competition cars were built before the 1930's there's very little assistance needed, puts our Land Rovers to shame! The end of the weekend is rounded up with a series of hill climbs on one farm which gives an ideal point for spectators. The variety of vehicles in the car park is worth a look at anyway, I ended up parking to a very tidy original Range Rover Classic 4 door, plenty of other Green Ovals in evidence. I was snapped as I left the farm by one of my fellow club members Click image to enlarge |

Not a Defender but Diddy broke down (my fault... lost at fuel gauge roulette and iffy fuel pump )
No one around for a tow, used a JCB instead Click image to enlarge |

I took all the wheel spacers off that a PO had fitted to the Defender I've bought.
Slowly making it look as it should. There go the mods! |

Unexpectedly I had Saturday morning to myself so rather than do the sensible thing and investigate the cause of the black smoke on the 300tdi, I applied significant quantities of ACF50 to the Heritage. It was about 18 months since I last did it. Under the bonnet I could see the odd nut, bolt or bracket I missed last time. Also did all of the internal nuts, bolts, metal surfaces, door frames, external rivets, gutter seams, bonnet blocks, hinges etc etc. Very (very) boring but now done. A quick clean inside and out and then we all took it to watch gremlin no.1 play hockey in the sunshine. Parked in the company of FF SVRs and similar it still gets more fuss!
