Not clear what the fault is, whether it's not parking all the time, not stopping during intermittent, not stopping after a wash, and so on.
Can you clarify? A fuse issue would be all or nothing - the wipers wouldn't work at all. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Thanks for the replies. As requested I'll try to be more specific. Intermittent does not function at all. On wash the water squirts and the wiper makes it's 3 or 4 auto wipes but then stops wherever it likes rather than in the park position. If it's the wiper park switch, what is the fix, replace the wiper motor? I've made an attempt to get to the stalk switches, decided that the steering wheel needs to be removed to be able to remove the plastic covers, the steering wheel is well stuck, left it soaking in some penetrating fluid, suspect I'm going to need some kind of puller to get the wheel off. Is there a common relay that might work the intermittent/ wash park?

Put the wipers through a full operational check. In normal operation wipers work and park as advertised, functioning correctly. No operation whatsoever in intermittent. Push the wash and get a jet of water, no auto wipe. Thanks for your help.

As they will park themselves in normal operation then the park switch itself would seem to be operating OK.
It sounds to be related to the intermittent wiper control unit, either it is loose, faulty or there is a poor connection to it. Try reseating it and/or replacing it temporarily with another unit from another Defender (if you have access to one). It's the large red "relay" at the top middle behind the panel under the steering wheel. Part number AMR2341 on it. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
