Thanks for the reply Steve.. that is almost how it feels to be honest, I’m guessing the clutch switch adjusts the engine revs accordingly or something similar..

Yes, I believe it creates a slight rev hang on gear change.
It also increases revs on low range which is incredibly annoying. You can go completely without it with no ill effects at all, but it must be bridged and not just unplugged on a TDCI.. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

TOP5N,
I seem to be in the same boat, most times it's quite fuss free, other times I get a clunk but figured I was being too abrupt with my shifting. Is your cluck coming from a particular area? From what I can tell it almost feels like something is loose outback. Would be interesting to know how you get on. Cheers, P |

A frame ball joint is possible too. No Guts, No Glory.

I asked my dealer to deactivate that very odd clutch rev combo, and they did but I have no idea how. I also had the slop that comes standard in the rear diff tightened up. Dealer didn't do that as they said it was normal.....so no more drive line bangs, no more terrible gear changes. My Defender and travels

Thanks for the follow up and feedback. I'll need to check this out as it sounds mine is exactly how yours was.
Enjoy the smoothness now |

I am still getting drive train bangs about 50% of the time. I can let the clutch out really slow and just suddenly "bang" as it bites, and that is literally being extremely slow on the clutch... Disabling the clutch / rev hold switch didn't really make any difference... my defender has only done 23000 miles and two and a half years old... thinking of going back to land rover with it.
