EGT - How hot???
Hello,

In anticipation of getting my madman EMS II wired up I wanted to know what EGT I should be expecting from a tuned TD5? I have read that you want to keep them below 700 centigrade?

I have a feeling that they will be pretty high and I will need to wind the boost rod back a bit!

800 is about the highest i think. Dont turn the boost down, more air = lower EGTs.

Ok - I will monitor it and see if the map allows decent EGTs. Its the full billet turbo and intercooler stage 3 map !

I am about to fit one as part of the kit. I was just asking what range is ok and what is too high.

Hi mate
They are post turbo.
I just used the blank plug to install the egt (as per Madman instructions
The plug was used for dpf sensor but luckily we don't have these...

What are your readings?
Cheers

500 is no worries.

my tgv is tunned a fiar bit and will top 700 if you hold it in the gears, just drive to the EGT gauge! Cheers

My Alive down pipe doesn't have a facility for fitting a EGT probe. However a good remap and all the usual mods from what I understand should mitigate high prolonged EGT,s. That been said I would still like too have one fitted! The ultraguage gives me the CHT readings and a tell tale of when too ease up. Thumbs Up
