There's still shed loads of byways out there even if the flags are up. But i just looked at the range info and there's no scheduled firing so flags should be down. Still plenty of troops out there so watch out. |

That's good, definitely have to watch the speed of the traffic and tank crossings etc.

I haven’t done that much off-roading really.
Certainly not done the lanes around the plains. Done a few lanes near me, but they’re getting very muddy this time of year. I don’t like going out by myself in case I get stuck somewhere and have to find a friendly farmer with a big tractor.
Don’t like doing anything too scratchy either 
I’ve been to Wales a few times with James from 4x4adventures and enjoyed that. Looking forward to this Saturday.
As I said before, I will be around the premier inn Swindon west on Saturday morning with a mate of mine, so your welcome to join us there if you want? And anyone else is welcome to join us too. Might have to eat a big breakfast  ..and get some fuel and snacks for the day first though.

I'm up for a meet at the premier inn Swindon west ,I too am a lover of the best meal of the day Breakfast,what sort of time ? Would I be right in thinking Swindon west is about a hour away from the main meet at 12 o,clock if so we would be looking at 10 o'clock which would suit me if you fancy a bit earlier please let me know.This is my first off roading for getting on for ten years so will be buzzing to get going.Is diesel_jim going to join us ?

Think it is about 20-30mins drive approx from the Premier Inn to the meeting point. We will probably having breakfast around 9.30/10.00. Just need to fuel up and get some provisions for the day. My mobile in case anyone needs it is: 07989046081

From the premier inn/costa, go to J16 (about 50yds away,) take the 2nd exit signposted Wroughton, then there's a LH turn just after the garden centre (about 1/2 mile from the J16 roundabout), follow that road all the way along to Wroughton, come to a traffic light junction, turn left, follow signs to Chiseldon.
you'll go up a steep hill giving you a lovely view of Swindon  center on your left, stay on that road all the way up to the Ridgeway and the carpark.
About 12~15 minutes from the costa |

No, eventhough I live only about 5 miles from the costa, and spend most of my laning time around the plain, I'm off to London that weekend. I usually go out in the week... much quieter, I like the solo life |
