Stick it on a trailer, improves the turning circle no-end

Wheel spacers have worked for me once you have them you can adjust the steering bolts to get a better turning circle.

There is a bolt on each side near the swivel joint/housing?, don't know the technical name; steering stop. If you adjust these with your front wheels off the ground on axle stands, you can sort out your turning circle of a jumbo jet! I'm sure someone will be along with a detailed way soon to explain in better English and more technically than ive put it. I have just sorted mine this way, just remember to do the same to both sides and don't over do it like I did first time round or you will end up with the tyres rubbing or even worse knackering the swivel housing! you should try a search on here as there are some photos of said bolts you need to adjust.

As above, just wind the stops in enough so you still have clearance between the tyres and radius arms.

You dont need to put it on axle stands. just get someone in the driving seat with the engine running to go lock to lock. just remember that on full lock one way you adjust the other side as you have access, then turn it back to see the clearance on the radius arms. LR says you need 20mm but I put mine about 8mm

30mm spacers and you will have all the lock you need once you adjust the lock stops.
Done this to mine and fitted 265/75x16, works well for me. Andy. |

Just one word of caution with winding the stops out to far with wheel spacers watch the oil seals on the chrome balls dont get damaged as they will if you go to far If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

And don't over adjust as you may over stress the CV joints. Does anyone know what the maximum angle is that they can handle? 130's have feeling's as well you know
