I spent the afternoon/evening out there yesterday. nice and muddy! although it did start to dry up later on.
Lots of military activity; LR's, lorries and armour. Ooh, and just for a change, ANOTHER puncture... in a brand new MTR... |

I've not had a puncture for ages, then just had 3 in a row. Just the way it goes really. Pieces of flint, as they're sharp. |

With all these punctures I'm tending to think we should just stick to the meet location and the first two lanes I suggested and leave it at that as I can't personally risk the cost of any tyre issues.
Especially with MOT coming up in weeks. I've not long shelled out for a new set. (pardon the pun. ) What does everyone think? That aside, I have two 235 / 85 wheel covers I will bring along that I don't no longer need. One is a Matford Land Rover (dealer printed advertising one.) soft one, like new no damage. The other a semi rigid gloss one, with decal on it, in average normal used condition. (Could be painted or something.) Both of them are no use to me and taking up lots of from, anyone who wants one is welcome to have it. I'll bring them along.. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

We've driven over the plains many times and never had any issues,
I think it's a bit OCD to Worry about punctures! There were some idiots spiking tracks, but they were fairly isolated cases, We've gone in series 1s with 2 groups of 8 vehicles, and driven all day for miles, Not a single issue all day! With green laning it's the risk you take, yes you might get a puncture, you might get some bramble rash?! That's all part of the fun! No point fitting chunky tyres if you not going to get them dirty Just go and enjoy it 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Yeah, I agree with what Daisy 90 and Ian just said.
Besides that, I'm bringing a mate with me in my Landy, and want to show off a bit to him! |

I wouldn't worry about punctures.... they can happen anywhere.
I've done 5 years of regular Greenlaning (including Salisbury Plain) and have never picked up a puncture on a Greenlane........ I expect the next time I go out I'll get one now. Personally I'd not worry too much and just go out and enjoy yourselves. I would be joining you if I wasn't working. BORG - Bucks & Oxon 4x4 Response Group |
