Think inspired by rather than direct replacement.

JLR can't stop Ineos making a 4x4! They just didn't want him to buy the Defender rights because they planned to build their own in 2016...2017...2018...2019...whenever/if-ever. I'm still waiting for someone to explain the lack of a photo. I know JLR was stung by Landwind, but that seems a poor excuse. Frankly, the lack of a photo is just odd. If it's wonderful, then there are going to be a LOT of current Defender owners selling up (and the price of current ones will drop). If it's awful, then the price of the current ones will continue to hit 'crazy'. The longer JLR leave it, the more time Ford are readying theirs, and even the Ineos one may be out before JLR's! |

I don't personally think he made a good job of his interview on the radio this morning.
He's a billionaire business man yet he sounded like an old fella in the 90s moaning about "jelly mold" cars. He sounded outdated and harking back to mythical "better times." I fear he's channeling Fred Dibner, not Elon Musk... one of them is looking ahead... I think JLR get this, hence dropping the defender |
