Glad you had a great trip. Weather wasn't too bad either by the look of your photos.

Looks a great trip! The wife is wanting a tour around the outer Hebrides next year so contemplating hiring a couple of roof tents to see how we get on with them as setting up out tent takes too long! Seems you found a good mixture of accommodation. James

James,
We actually fine we are better sorted with our own tent. Everything has a place and we know how it 'works' better for space.. We can set ours up pretty quickly and we do take a lot... Kitchen pops up, Coffee machine and laptop. Heater, Electrics for tablets, cameras etc. We can also sit in the front part if the weather is bad. This year we even had a folding twin camp bed with double air mattress and big blankets It was great staying in the other types of accommodation mind, we just get more sorted in our own set up. I like the roof tents but again ease of use not sure it would work? we have a porta potty and then my 6 year old is never going to get up the ladders... plus the wife likes us all together so unless they did a 4 birth roof tent its a no go. My option would be a roof tent and canopy set up on the sankey? but then its easier on these narrow single track roads not towing Great trip though and we are looking at the other little Islands for next time |

Thanks for sharing these Stacey007
That all looks great... well done I've been going through the options 'on or near' the NC500 and the list just keeps growing... Slowly coming to the conclusion to have a general plan but to allow an adventure... ideally 2+ weeks Sep / Oct or next May Really want to do this now... Thanks, Stanley, made an enquiry but only hire fully equipped Defenders, not just the tents.
I feel like I'm high jacking this thread so will start my own Thanks anyway James MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |
