Gear shifter for auto box
I collected a 300tdi & auto box for my 90 project the other day along with some axles

All removed from a discovery of course

Its got a shifter control & cable with it

What I would like to know is could I use the shifter & cable from a Disco 2 as they are better looking Cool

I am now where about to start this project but think about it every day as you do with the projects Laughing

Thanks Thumbs Up Chris

I think you can, Ashcroft transmissions sell only the disco 2 version as the earlier version isn't available any longer.
There is some info on there website around fitting an auto in a defender.

If you decide to sell the older version, post some pictures; I may be interested.

Thats got a shifter with it but I think the ones I have are not complete. Was planning to take the latest box to Newbury but I can not confirm its in working order Chris

I had a D2 auto shifter for the v8 originally, they look modern but they're a bit plasticky Confused

I stuck with my 'lightweight' RRC shifter...
