I think you can, Ashcroft transmissions sell only the disco 2 version as the earlier version isn't available any longer.
There is some info on there website around fitting an auto in a defender. If you decide to sell the older version, post some pictures; I may be interested. |

I picked up another auto box the other day also from a mate who needed one for a D2 & was sent a box for a D1 from a breakers ![]() Thats got a shifter with it but I think the ones I have are not complete. Was planning to take the latest box to Newbury but I can not confirm its in working order Chris 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility. I had a D2 auto shifter for the v8 originally, they look modern but they're a bit plasticky
