2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Stornoway Grey

Load area seatbelt anchor bracket

Hi,

I'm trying to get all the bits together to install forward facing lock &fold seats to my 2007 hardtop 90.

I recently bought the tubular supports that go between the rear crossmember and the seat belt.

Does the seat belt reel attach directly to this support? Or does it mount on the upper corner bracket?

The front part of the bracket has a captive nut for the end anchor of the seatbelt. Is that right?

To answer your last question, the loose end of the seat belt seen below the reel mounting assembly in the photo is the part that attaches through from the inside of the tub to the captive nut on crossmember tubular bracket.

I've also got a domed/ball shape headed bolt that came with the bracket. Any ideas what its for?

That ball head bolt has puzzled me previously. It's shown on the factory parts seat belt fitting diagram as the bolt which secures the anchor end of the seat belt through the tub into the captive nut on the crossmember tubular bracket. Seems very odd as the ball part has no function for this purpose. Unless someone here knows different? Hence I suspect it may be an error in the publication? I don't see why a standard shouldered bolt wouldn't suffice?

How did you fit the seat belt buckles mounted to the floor?

I believe the ball thing stops the seat belt lower fixing twisting round and twisting the belt.

I used take off 3rd row seats so the seat belt buckles were already attached to the side of the chairs.
