could you clarify what tube nut and olive means? On both of the TD5 engines I have there were gaskets on the upper and lower connections.

I just had a check of the diagram and it needs two of these - LRJ100000
I will try with just the fresh gaskets and clean mating surfaces torqued to spec (10nm). If that fails I will drain the oil again and try my luck with RTV. Thanks |

This type metal gasket one shot only can not be reused

Yep - I think I disconnected the tube when doing the rear main oil seal as I had to drop the sump so hopefully a new gasket will sort it. It was leaking incredibly badly!

All done - gaskets six quid from the stealer. Torque is 10nm which does not seem all that much but no leaks so far. Cleaned up the mating surfaces on a flat steel table with some p1000 sandpaper first.
