Alex the puller is a complete waste of money. I must have done hundreds and hundreds of Td5 injectors and a small heel bar works much better

A long 4mm allen key works perfect.

Cheers,
The reason i was going to use the correct tool is down to hearing horror stories of cracking heads using bars!? BUT yea they are expensive so i would prefer to avoid using it. Alex |

You wont crack the head with a 4mm allen key, as it will flex slightly before the injector releases.

A locking pin is not necessary as you will need to rotate the camshaft by turning the crankshaft clockwise to create clearance at each injector before you can remove that injector, it will be obvious when you start.
Also, before you start removing the rocker shaft you will need to unscrew each of injector plunger adjusting screws a few turns to allow for correct adjustment during reassembly. When removing the rocker shaft release each bolt evenly to avoid distorting the rocker shaft. |
