Side air intake ...
Side air intake ..

Now that I have airbox out in preparation for replacing turbo to IC hose - and having some excess OEM turbo hose - was contemplating improvising some shorter and wider air intake to join the KBX thingy on the top OS fender.

But thinking why LR would have implemented the side fender (dirty) air intake - any good mechanical/engineering reason for that?

Given that my old RRC had a centrally located airbox near the firewall with no elongated intakes to the sides.

Your opinions on this please?
