td5 creaking clutch
HI

This is my first post and i am sorry to start of my time here wanting advice.

My 2004 xs has a heavy creaking clutch, i have done the spring mod and oiled/greased the pedal pivot.
When the engine/box is stone cold its quiet but as soon as i use the pedal a few times it starts to creak!

The noise seems to be coming from the slave cylinder area,is it the pivot arm? can i get any lube into it?.

Is there anything i can do before i end up taking the box out.

Thanks in advance.

Unscrewing the 6 screws and taking off the cover plate will give you access to the moving parts inside the pedal box so you may be able to get some oil in there? Matt.

Thanks Matt,

I have oiled in there and even fitted a grease nipple into the shaft. I do believe its further down the line.

Thanks for the reply.

This thread may be helpful, although you say you have done the grease nipple mod. Have you tried lithium grease?

Probably the release arm on its pivot inside the bellhousing. Mine does it too, though I can't hear it when driving.

The pivot and arm can wear, so replacement if necessary and a good helping of grease next time you're fiddling inside the bellhousing should sort it.
