That, or something very similar, is what the new Defender should be!

As the momentum for electric vehicles gathers pace, I fully expect somebody to come up with a retrofit kit for Defenders. Darren

I hope so as I have no desire to scrap either of mine...a Defender/Series is still the ultimate 'green' vehicle, no remanufacturing pollution, nasty things in batteries, horrible plastics etc...in fact, in my Wolf plastic is almost non-existent! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains

On a vaguely similar note, just read this article about electric trucks, which is quite interesting:

I dont think diesels are being banned from 2040 - i thought it was the sale of new ones? Given my age at that point, not sure ill care that much!

If I were to use that thing, the motoring I do on a typical weekend, which involves driving for about 8 hours in my Defender, would take around 30 hours, most of which would be spent charging.

That is really going to work!

Plus it looks as though it was styled by a 5-year-old!

If the Defender couldn't be sold int he US due to non-compliance with safety regs, how can that? It may have airbags (?), but it doesn't look at all pedestrian friendly.

That's what I thought, how can it pass their regs? It looks like the defenders ugly cousin but with all the comfort and safety features of the defender removed!

I just hope the 4x4 being developed by Ineos and Jim Ratcliffe look a bit better than the Bollinger. Me thinks they'll be better sticking to producing champagne! Defender 90XS SW
