td5 alarm

Hello I have a 52 reg defender td5 and need a replacement alarm siren.
The part number on the old unit is YWK 100 130 and I am informed that this number has been superseded with part number LR044 570 at a cost of £111 plus VAT at Rimmer Bros. Can anyone come up with an idea where I might find a cheaper price.

Rimmer Bros normally just charge the full non-discounted retail price. You can usually get it cheaper from a main dealer as they will normally discount if you ask. So someone like Duckworths is even worth a go.

if you put the LR044570 part number into google it comes up with a number of suppliers. There are also plenty of second hand ones on ebay, they were widely used on various Rover Group vehicles, even on some Aston Martins apparently.
