Just in case anyone else was, like I was, wondering what model year this fits, it is 2012 onwards apparently. No use to me therefore, sadly.

Actually not correct. If it had been the case I'd have bought it. 110 DCPU

A new ECU requires that the original ECU/vehicle is present during programming. 110 DCPU

Ok! Interesting.

Not sure why that should be the case... is it to do with all the 'add on' stuff that the ECU takes care of, seperate from 'running' the engine? YOLO... You Only Live Once...

Can't help with detail. It's what BAS told me when I was discussing sending him a blank ECU for coding. 110 DCPU

It is my understanding that the Ecu can be coded to a vehicle and then sent away for remap.

If this is wrong please let me know

This is the reply I received from BAS when I was considering buying your ECU and sending it off for mapping:

"A new ecu will need coding to the car and so can only be done with car and ecu at my workshop or via the bas2rrc tool." 110 DCPU

Sounds reasonable. Although I guess that would more than likely mean a visit to your local LR dealer. 110 DCPU
