If the map was unplugged it could suggest someone has had a problem with it in the past. You could try taking the map sensor out and cleaning it then see if there's a difference in performance when it's plugged back in. I recently replaced my map sensor and got some torque back that I hadn't noticed was missing. Ray

Thank you for all the suggestions guys. I gave the MAP sensor a clean, checked the red plug again which was dry and have done a couple of thousand miles with no repeat problems. Not yet tested the turbo, that will have to wait until I next get home but the problem seems to have gone Very Happy
